This week on Destination Coffee we’re on a grand coffee tour of Door County, Wisconsin…
In the summer of 2021, I enjoyed an amazing adventure to beautiful Door County, WI. Door County is situated on the picturesque Door Peninsula, which juts out into Lake Michigan, forming Green Bay.
Known as the ‘Cape Cod of the Midwest,’ Door County feels like a Narnia of sorts – a magical place – a door into a simpler time. Home to It is one of the favorite spots I have visited and I hope to return in 2023.
It has several state parks, and more lighthouses than any other county in the US! Small close-knit communities welcome tourists with fine-dining, fun shopping, supper clubs and of course coffee!
In the summer months the waters of Lake Michigan are crystal clear and emerald green – reminiscent of the Caribbean. Rocky cliffs from the Niagara Escarpment create a dramatic coastline with windswept sand dunes and sea caves.
In the winter, the frigid temps turn Door County into a mini-North Pole with thick snow and ice.

One of my favorite things about Door County is the delicious coffee and tea spots throughout the peninsula. It’s no wonder that DC residents are coffee experts – nothing gets you through a frigid icy day better than a mocha-licious latte or grog.
We are starting our DC blog journey at one of my go-to spots to order coffee online – Door County Coffee and Tea Company.
Located in the heart of Door County, this family owned business has been serving up the best in small batch hand roasted coffee since 1993. Door County Coffee only uses Specialty Class 1 Arabica coffee beans – the top 2% of beans grown!
DC Coffee and Tea’s, nearly thirty year history of providing the best quality and service has made them a fan favorite. In addition to their warehouse and cafe in Door County, their coffee is distributed in over thirty states and sold online. They offer over 100 blends of coffee from seasonal treats like Jingle Bell Java to year-round faves like Vanilla Brûlée or Cherry Creme.
*Fun fact – Door County is renowned for their delicious mouthwatering cherries. I am a cherry snob after visiting the peninsula…I order my cherry jam and cherries from area cherry grower – Seaquist Orchards. A visit to the Seaquist store (which has hundreds of cherry picked items from cherry pie to cherry cheese and of course Door County Cherry Creme Coffee!)
This Christmas I decided to treat my mother and I to a little yuletide cheer and order the Door County Coffee Advent Calendar. This fun java countdown calendar brings the magic of a Door County to your coffee pot with a different flavor of coffee for each of the twenty-four days leading up to Christmas.

In the days leading up to Christmas, as the temps have dropped to thirty degrees in NC, a cup of Door County Coffee has powered me through the day.
I’ve become addicted to flavors like Naughty or Nice Grog ( a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg and dark rum flavors); Jingle Bell Java (notes of toasted pecans, roasted cinnamon and vanilla) and Toffee Pretzel…
The advent calendar sold out quickly, but no worries – you can find your perfect Door County Roast on their website. Whether you prefer a robust non-flavored blend or delicious mocha or sweet creme coffee – DC has the perfect beans for your you perfect cup.
In addition to coffee, they also offer a diverse mix of teas including a special Harney and Sons blend.
Door County Coffee to your DOORSTEP…it is super easy to order all the DC Coffee and Tea goodies from their website…
*Quick tip – when you travel and enjoy a great coffee shop or local store (jam, honey, etc…) ask if they deliver and have online ordering – that way you can order your favorite trip finds when you get home and relive a bit of trip magic at home.

As wonderful as getting DC Coffee in my stocking this Christmas, nothing beats visiting Door County Coffee and Tea in person.
When visiting Door County, make sure to stop by a tour of the Door County Coffee Company Warehouse for a behind the scenes look into how they roast their beans. You can also enjoy a homemade scrumptious meal at their in-house cafe. Enjoy fresh toast (regular or gluten-free) with lip-smacking chopped cherry jam.

No matter what the occasion you deserve a bit of coffee and tea to get you through the day….
