Dooleys Cafe is located in an historic hotel and former Dooley’s Department Store – delicious eats with historic vibe

Another great foodie spot is Two Boros Brewery, which includes tons of house made and locally sourced ciders and beer, along with amazing pizza (gluten free options). I love the detail work on their historic building too!

Kerr Scott Dam – This is a beautiful place for hiking trails, boating and traveling through time in the steps of the Overmountain Men like Benjamin and Robert Cleveland and the local militia who passed through this land as they made their way to Kings Mountain SC to defeat the Bulldog Patrick Ferguson. Kerr Scott Dam has a wonderful visitor center with exhibits about the Overmountain Men. Learn more here

Historic St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is home to the Ben Long Frescos and also where you’ll find George Gordon, a Revolutionary War Soldier’s gravesite.

Rendezvous Mountain State Park is where tradition holds that brothers Robert and Benjamin Cleveland blew the horn atop Rendezvous Mountain to call the local militia to muster for their march to Kings Mountain. The area has beautiful views of the Blue Ridge, hiking trails and a Forestry exhibit.
